Forms Overview

How forms work in FlowNurture — lead capture, contact creation, and connecting forms to workflows.

FlowNurture Team3 min read

Forms are how new contacts enter FlowNurture. When someone fills out a form, a contact record is created automatically — ready to be tagged, segmented, and enrolled in workflows.

Form types

FlowNurture supports two form types:

  • Embedded forms — placed directly on your website within the page content
  • Popup forms — triggered by time, scroll depth, or exit intent

Both create contacts in your workspace on submission.

What happens on submission

When a visitor submits a form:

  1. A contact is created (or updated if the email already exists)
  2. Any configured tags are applied
  3. The contact appears in your Contacts list
  4. If the contact matches a segment, they enter it immediately
  5. Workflow triggers linked to the form can enroll the contact automatically

Creating a form

  1. Go to Templates → Forms
  2. Click Create Form
  3. Configure form fields (email is always required)
  4. Set any auto-applied tags
  5. Configure popup trigger settings if applicable
  6. Save and publish

Embedding on your website

After creating an embedded form, FlowNurture provides an embed code. Copy and paste it into your website HTML where you want the form to appear.

For popup forms, add the popup script to your site — it loads asynchronously and shows the form based on your trigger settings.

Landing pages include forms

If you don't want to embed on an external site, create a FlowNurture landing page instead. Landing pages include a built-in form and are hosted on FlowNurture's domain.

Tips

  • Keep forms short — name and email are usually enough for initial capture
  • Apply tags on submission to organize contacts immediately
  • Connect forms to welcome workflows so every new contact gets an automated follow-up
  • Test your form before promoting it — submit a test entry and verify the contact appears
