FlowNurture vs Brevo: Which Is Right for Your Business?

Brevo is affordable and multichannel. FlowNurture offers lead scoring, AI-powered workflows, and CRM sync that Brevo doesn't have at any price tier. Here's the full comparison.

Brevo wins on multichannel breadth; FlowNurture wins on lead intelligence, AI depth, and CRM sync

Brevo is one of the most searched email platforms in 2026 — and for good reason. Its send-based pricing model benefits senders who have a large contact list but email infrequently, and despite its low prices, it includes a surprising amount of advanced features, including marketing automation, CRM, transactional emails, and forms.

But Brevo was built as a multichannel broadcast platform — email, SMS, WhatsApp, chat. If your goal is not just sending emails, but building a system that qualifies leads, scores behaviour, and automatically moves prospects closer to a sale, the comparison gets more complicated.

This is an honest breakdown of what each platform does well, where each falls short, and which one fits which type of business.

Lead scoring and AI workflows from $25/mo

FlowNurture gives you what Brevo doesn't — lead scoring, engagement trends, and AI-powered workflow generation. Free to start.

The core difference

Brevo is a multichannel marketing platform. Its strength is breadth — email, SMS, WhatsApp, chat, and basic CRM in one place, at a low starting price.

FlowNurture is a lead nurturing and email automation platform. Its strength is depth — behavioural lead scoring, intelligent segmentation, AI-powered workflow automation, and bidirectional CRM sync, built specifically to move leads through a funnel rather than simply broadcast to a list.

Neither is universally better. The question is which architecture matches what your business actually needs to do.

Pricing: send-based vs feature-based

This is where the two platforms diverge most structurally.

Brevo prices by the number of emails sent per month, not by contact count. Their send-based pricing tends to benefit senders who have a large contact list but email relatively infrequently — once or twice a month. High-frequency senders will find list-based pricing more predictable.

FlowNurture prices by feature tier, with unlimited contacts on all paid plans. Your cost is determined by what capabilities you need, not how large your list grows or how often you send.

Head-to-head pricing

AdvancedProfessional: $65+/month — 150,000 emails, AI, WhatsAppPro: $299/month — 350,000 emails, AI Copilot, dedicated IPs

The hidden cost on Brevo's Starter plan. Emails sent on Brevo's Starter plan include Brevo branding, and removing it requires an additional paid add-on — approximately $10.80 per month. This turns the advertised low entry price into a higher ongoing cost for teams that need white-label communication. On FlowNurture, branding is removed from the Starter plan ($25/month) with no add-on required.

The send-volume risk on Brevo. Because Brevo charges per email sent, growing your send frequency directly grows your bill. A business that moves from monthly newsletters to weekly nurture sequences — the natural progression of a maturing email programme — sees its Brevo cost multiply by four. FlowNurture's cost does not change based on how often you send within your plan's monthly limit.

Brevo's free tier has a higher daily send ceiling but significant restrictions on automation contact limits. The plan is restricted to one user and has a strict daily sending cap, and features like A/B testing, landing pages, advanced reporting, and branding removal are not included.

FlowNurture's free plan includes fewer monthly sends but gives you three full multi-step workflows, a landing page, and the Nura AI onboarding assistant — which means you can build a working automated nurture system on the free plan before upgrading.

Automation and workflows

Both platforms offer marketing automation, but the depth and architecture are meaningfully different.

Brevo automation operates on a trigger-condition-action model. You can build multi-step journeys on Standard and above — entry triggers, delays, conditional branches, and email sends. The Standard plan adds A/B testing, advanced reporting and analytics, more automation capacity, and landing pages at $18/month for 5,000 emails. The automation is functional and improving, but it is built around broadcast flows — sending messages at scale — rather than individual lead qualification.

FlowNurture workflows use three step types: DELAY, SEND_EMAIL, and CONDITION. Workflows can be triggered by form submission, tag addition, segment entry, booking creation, or lead score threshold. Every enrollment has a full run log — you can see exactly which step each contact is at, which conditions passed or failed, and where drop-off occurs. Bulk retry for failed enrollments, step-level completion stats, and live monitoring are all built in from the Starter plan.

The practical difference: FlowNurture's workflow engine is built around the idea that different contacts should have different experiences based on what they do. Brevo's is built around the idea of delivering a consistent journey to a large audience efficiently.

Lead scoring and contact intelligence

This is the clearest functional gap between the two platforms.

Brevo has no lead scoring at any plan tier. Segmentation is based on contact fields, campaign activity, and behavioural data — but there is no mechanism for automatically qualifying leads based on cumulative engagement signals or routing them to different sequences based on readiness.

FlowNurture (Growth and Pro plans) includes a two-tier scoring system:

Lead scoring assigns a 0–100 score to every contact based on profile completeness and email behaviour — opens, clicks, form submissions, job title signals, and workflow enrollment. Contacts automatically transition through lifecycle stages (Subscriber → Lead → MQL → SQL → Customer) as their score rises.

Engagement scoring measures 30-day rolling behaviour with trend analysis — Rising, Stable, or Declining — and assigns a conversion likelihood rating to every contact: Low, Possible, Likely, or Very Likely.

For businesses with a real sales process — where knowing which leads are ready for a conversation matters — this distinction is significant. Brevo can tell you who opened your last email. FlowNurture can tell you which contacts are your warmest leads right now, and automatically hand them off to a closing sequence or your sales CRM when they hit a threshold.

CRM integration

Brevo includes a basic built-in CRM for contact and pipeline management. It is useful for very simple sales workflows — deals, contact notes, basic pipeline stages. For teams already using HubSpot, Salesforce, or Pipedrive, Brevo's CRM integrations exist but are primarily one-directional and often rely on third-party connectors for full sync.

FlowNurture does not have a built-in CRM — but it has native bidirectional sync with HubSpot, Salesforce, and Pipedrive. Field mapping is fully configurable, with source-of-truth settings per field and sync direction (inbound, outbound, or both) per field. Lead scores, engagement scores, lifecycle stages, and email activity flow into the CRM your sales team already uses. CRM contact data flows back into FlowNurture for segmentation and workflow triggering.

If your sales team lives in a CRM and you need email engagement data to appear there automatically — including lead scores and lifecycle stage — FlowNurture's native sync is the more reliable path. Brevo's CRM story works best for teams with no existing CRM who want basic pipeline management included in their email platform.

Multichannel capabilities

This is where Brevo has a genuine, significant advantage.

Brevo includes SMS and WhatsApp messaging across most tiers, making it a cost-effective multichannel solution. You can build customer journeys that start with an email, follow up with SMS if the contact does not respond, and add a WhatsApp message for high-intent leads — all within the same workflow, from the same platform.

FlowNurture is email-only. There is no SMS, no WhatsApp, no live chat. If multichannel sequences are a core requirement — particularly for businesses where SMS is a primary follow-up channel — Brevo is the better fit.

AI capabilities

Brevo's AI features are available on the Professional plan and above. The Professional plan is aimed at high-volume senders and includes AI capabilities alongside analytics studio, custom objects, and WhatsApp messaging. AI is an add-on to an existing platform, not an integrated layer throughout the workflow.

FlowNurture's AI is embedded at three levels across the platform:

Nura, the AI onboarding assistant, is available on every plan including the free tier. It guides setup, answers product questions, and adapts its recommendations based on your selected growth goal.

The AI Writing Assistant (Growth+ plans) is embedded directly in the email builder. A sparkle button on subject lines, text blocks, and CTA buttons generates alternatives inline — subject line suggestions, body copy rewrites, and CTA label options — without leaving the editor.

The AI Copilot (Pro plan) generates complete multi-step workflow definitions from a goal and audience description, recommends smart segment filters, summarises lead intelligence, diagnoses underperforming sequences, and optimises send timing based on actual engagement data.

The distinction is architectural. Brevo uses AI as a feature available at higher tiers. FlowNurture uses AI as a layer embedded throughout the platform at every tier from free upwards.

Email builder and templates

Both platforms offer drag-and-drop email builders with personalisation tokens and desktop/mobile preview.

Brevo has an advantage in template variety — a solid drag-and-drop interface with 40+ templates that cover a wide range of use cases and aesthetics.

FlowNurture's email builder uses 12 block types — Hero, Heading, Text, Button, Book Meeting, Image, Video, Columns, Divider, Spacer, Social, Unsubscribe, and Raw HTML — with Tiptap-powered rich text editing, 30+ personalisation tokens, and email-safe HTML output for Outlook compatibility. Template variety is more limited than Brevo's, but the AI Writing Assistant embedded in the builder compensates significantly for content creation speed.

If template choice is a top priority, Brevo has the edge. If AI-assisted writing speed matters more than template selection, FlowNurture's builder is the stronger environment.

Deliverability

Both platforms offer tiered deliverability based on plan level.

Free users on Brevo send from shared IP pools with limited reputation controls, and this increases the risk of emails landing in spam — especially on Gmail. Dedicated IPs on Brevo are available on Professional and Enterprise plans only, or as a $251/year add-on.

FlowNurture offers three sending environments: Standard (Free plan, shared infrastructure), Secure (Starter and Growth, includes custom domain authentication with DKIM, SPF, and DMARC configuration), and Premium (Pro, dedicated IP pool). Domain authentication on the Secure tier is available from $25/month — lower than Brevo's Professional plan where equivalent deliverability controls sit.

What Brevo does better

Being direct about this:

  • Multichannel — email, SMS, WhatsApp, and live chat in a single platform. No competitor at this price point matches Brevo's breadth of channels.
  • Starting price — $9/month for Starter vs $25/month for FlowNurture Starter. For very small volume senders, Brevo's entry price is lower.
  • Template variety — 40+ pre-built email templates across a wider range of industries and use cases.
  • Brand recognition and integrations — Brevo has a larger third-party integration ecosystem built up over years as Sendinblue and then Brevo.
  • Basic CRM included — for teams with no existing CRM who need simple pipeline management, Brevo's built-in CRM removes one tool from the stack.

What FlowNurture does better

  • Lead scoring and contact intelligence — not available on Brevo at any price tier. FlowNurture's lead scoring, engagement scoring, conversion likelihood, and lifecycle stage progression are built for businesses that need to know which leads are ready to buy.
  • AI embedded throughout — Nura from the free plan, AI Writing Assistant from Growth, AI Copilot on Pro. Brevo's AI is Professional-tier only.
  • Bidirectional CRM sync — native two-way sync with HubSpot, Salesforce, and Pipedrive with configurable field mapping. Brevo's CRM integrations are more limited.
  • Landing pages from the free plan — Brevo removed landing pages from its Starter tier in October 2025. FlowNurture includes a landing page builder from the free plan upwards.
  • Workflow depth — step-level run logs, live enrollment monitoring, bulk retry for failed enrollments, and lead score-triggered enrollment. Brevo's automation is capable but less observable.
  • Predictable cost scaling — FlowNurture's price does not increase as you send more frequently within your plan. Brevo's send-based model means more active nurture programmes cost more.
  • Booking pages — built-in Google Calendar integration with Google Meet, custom form fields, and booking analytics. Not available on Brevo.

Who should choose Brevo

Brevo is the right choice if multichannel marketing is a core requirement — particularly SMS and WhatsApp alongside email. It is also a strong fit for businesses with very high contact volumes but low send frequency, where the send-based pricing model works in their favour. If you need a basic built-in CRM and have no existing sales CRM to integrate with, Brevo's all-in-one approach reduces complexity.

Who should choose FlowNurture

FlowNurture is the right choice if your primary goal is qualifying leads and converting them into customers through structured, behaviour-driven automation. If you have a real sales process — using HubSpot, Salesforce, or Pipedrive — and need email engagement data to flow bidirectionally into that CRM, FlowNurture's native sync is built for that workflow. If lead scoring, conversion likelihood, and automated lifecycle progression matter to your business, none of those capabilities exist in Brevo.

If your business sends email campaigns to large lists and also needs SMS and WhatsApp — choose Brevo. If your business needs to turn leads into customers through intelligent, automated nurturing — choose FlowNurture.
